- The u14-u19 Tri-State Union program brings together the top players from the area to train with are college coaches and attend a college showcase event. A great way for players to network and get valuable exposure to college coaches and recruiters. More than 120 players have gone on to play in college from SESA since 2015.
- The u15-u23 Men's & Women's program is a summer program for current college and college bound players to train and play at a high level during the summer off season. A vital part of going on to play at the college level. With multiple practices each week with top professional staff coaches.
- The Men's Pre Professional team competes in the Midwest Premier League. Offering local players a top level competitive training and game structure and pathway to professional levels. Plan in place to expand and offer a Women's Pre-Pro team in the near future.
- As a member of Iowa Soccer, SESA supports the Iowa Olympic Development Program & has a number of players selected to ODP teams.
- Only the top players from across the state are selected for ODP, and SESA has had a strong history of players able to play at the levels required. Many SESA players have been selected to Regional, Sectional, and National teams & camps through ODP, including a US Women's Extended National Team player- Josephine Blazic.
- With SESA staff also involved with ODP, players are well advocated for and the coaching they receive sets them up to have the skills necessary to be successful.
- At the hear of SESA is our history and communities.
- SESA was originally founded in the early 1980's as the Burlington Area Soccer Club (and remains our legal name to this day). Over time, as soccer grew and our players grew to include those from beyond the Burlington area, the name Southeast Soccer Academy was adopted to better reflect our inclusion of all players and not just tied to one town or school. For a time "Elite" also accompanied both BASC & SESA, as way to distinguish the competitive travel program from the recreation program. Eventually Elite was dropped and the SESA umbrella expanded to include all soccer in the area, from grassroots, to recreational, youth and adult, competitive travel, college prep, and now even Pre-Professional.
- As SESA has grown, we now host players from more than 20 different school districts across 3 states. We have invested in a number of area schools, providing goals, books, equipment, and resources, as well as support and funding to help start several area high school and middle school teams. We have partnered with a number of area businesses and organizations, utilize cooperation to promote soccer and ensure that every player has the opportunity to play. These strong partnerships help to provide financial aid and offset program costs.
- Our 3 home tournaments generate an estimated $5+ million in economic impact to the greater area every single year. And the SESA Monster Match was recognized in 2022 with the Community Impact Award, from the Greater Burlington Partnership. Our leagues, events, programs and tournaments have helped to develop local facilities, such as the Recplex and FunCity Turf, and outfit them with all of the goals and equipment.
- SESA is soccer in Southeast Iowa, and are committed to growing soccer and supporting our member communities.
